Privacy for Android phones and tablets
This notice explains how the StreamerXL client on an Android phone or tablet handles personal data. It follows the EU General Data Protection Regulation. It is the notice for this client.
This client
This notice is for the StreamerXL client on Android phones and tablets. The package name is com.streamerxl.phone. The same client runs on a phone and on a tablet.
It plays films, series, and other media from your own StreamerXL Server.
This client shows no advertising.
Camera
The camera is used when you scan the code on the server screen. The picture is the server address and the short code.
The picture is used to pair this client with your server. It is not kept as a photo.
On the phone or tablet
The client stores the language you choose, and the pairing with your server, on the device.
You can save a film on the device. A saved film stays for 1 day, 7 days, 30 days, or until you remove it. Seven days is the start. At most 8 GB of saved films stays in the client.
You can remove the pairing stored on the device.
Your server
On the home network the client pairs with your server. After that, the library and playback go to that server.
While a film plays, the position is sent to your server about every 10 seconds.
While the client is open, it tells your server that it is open, about once a minute.
A subtitle file you add is sent to your server. A correction of a title is stored on your server.
The legal basis is the service you asked for: watching your own media on your server.
streamerxl.com
Away from home, the client asks streamerxl.com where your server is. The question uses a code from the pairing, so the secure tunnel can start.
An invite is created on your server, with a name and an email address. streamerxl.com sends that mail so this client can open the invite and connect to your server. The address is used to send the mail.
Subtitles
When you search for a subtitle on a film or a series, your server can send that title to OpenSubtitles.com and ask for a subtitle.
Other media is not sent to OpenSubtitles.com.
OpenSubtitles.com is a separate service. Its own notice describes how it handles that request.
Who receives the data
Your StreamerXL Server receives the library requests, the playback, the position, that the client is open, a subtitle file you add, and a title correction.
streamerxl.com receives the pairing code when the client asks where your server is, and the name and email address when an invite is sent.
OpenSubtitles.com receives a film or series title when you search for a subtitle.
StreamerXL does not sell this data.
Children
This client is not directed at children.

You can ask for access to your data, a correction, deletion, a limit on the processing, and a copy. You can object when the legal basis is legitimate interest.
