Get started in six steps
- Install your serverInstall StreamerXL on a PC or virtual machine using the server ISO.
- Set up your systemOn your home network, open http://streamerxl.local:8090 in your browser. Choose your language, network settings, and media folders.
- Build your libraryAdd your existing media files or back up your DVDs and Blu-rays directly through StreamerXL Server. Movies and Series get titles and artwork, while Other Media gets preview images generated from your files.
- Connect your devicesInstall a free StreamerXL client and pair it using a short code at home or an invitation when away.
- Stay connectedYour client connects automatically over your home network or through a secure connection when you're away.
- Enjoy your mediaStart watching. StreamerXL automatically adapts playback when your device needs a different format.
StreamerXL Server
Your own media server, ready to run.
StreamerXL Server runs as a standalone system on a 64-bit PC or virtual machine.
Once started, the server displays its status and a QR code for easy access to setup.

Keep your media on internal drives, USB storage, or shared network folders. Simply select your folders and let StreamerXL build your library.

DVD and Blu-ray Backup
Build your library directly from your discs.
StreamerXL Server includes a built-in backup feature in the admin interface. Back up your own DVDs and Blu-rays directly to your server and add them to your personal media library.
No separate computer or backup software is needed. Use a compatible optical drive connected to your server.
You can also review and correct your media information through the admin interface.

Watching Your Media

Browse Movies, Series, and Other Media in the StreamerXL client. Search your collection, browse alphabetically, or continue watching where you left off.
Smart Playback
StreamerXL plays original files whenever your device supports them. When needed, the server automatically adapts the stream for compatible playback.
Multiple clients can watch simultaneously, within your license limit.
Subtitles and Playback Progress
Use embedded subtitles, external subtitle files, manually added subtitles, or search for subtitles for movies and series.
Each client remembers its own playback progress.
Watch at Home or Away
Your library follows you.
At Home
Pair your client using a six-character code. Once connected, your client automatically finds your server on your home network.
Away from Home
Connect a remote client using an invitation. Once paired, your client automatically establishes a secure connection whenever you use it away from home.
At home, your client connects directly over your local network. Away from home, it securely locates and connects to your server.
The connection closes when you close the client.
Your media always stays on your own server.
